Creating a positive mindset, 10 simple steps

It's easier said than done to create a positive mindset, I mean what does that even mean?

Is it that you are not allowed to have negative thoughts? Or you have to walk round with the biggest, cheesiest grin on your face? Do you have to say hello to everyone you meet in the street? 'Even the weird guy from next door?'


No!

A positive mindset is about setting a goal, having aspirations and dreams. It's when your brain begins to tell you that things aren't working out and then all of a sudden your mood begins to change. It's understanding when you begin to slip in a negative state of mind, what is going to bring you back. Ensuring when you want to give up on something because it feels hard, or because your tired that you must stay focused, because the end result is what you are grasping for.

Having a positive mindset can hep you stay focus and driven, it's all to do with thought based process. I want you to repeat after me. 'I am in a really bad mood!' Did you say it, say it again out loud ' I am in a really, really bad mood.' How has that made you feel, do you feel like crap are you in a mood now? I want you to repeat this out loud ' I am in such a great mood.' did you say it? Say it again so loud, that your house mate, partner, friend, whoever is near by gives you a strange look and asks you why you are talking to yourself. 'I am in a bloody great mood!' How has that made you feel? I bet you feel more upbeat, I imagine your posture has changed and you are sitting or standing tall. Your fee firmly on the ground and your back is up straight! This is all to do with how your thoughts can consume you, it can make all aspects of your being change to reflect what is going on in your head.


The world has changed dramatically over the last ten years, social aspects of fitting in and keeping up with thy neighbour have all contributed to the human thought process. Thanks to social media, peoples lifestyles have become more accessible, nothing is private anymore. All you have to do is look on Instagram and you have a catalogue of celebrities, showing you their million pound home, or their twenty grand trip to the Maldives and Mauritius. Influencer's bragging about diet pills that don't work and a body they paid ten grand for!

The thing is we are EXPOSED, we are exposed to a society that is built up on materialism.

If you don't have the dream house, glam car, fake books and jaw line then you are not able to create the life you want. 'You won't be able to have the million pound house or dream car and the white picket fence house.' Can I just add this is bullshit by the way, it's not true. How many times have you said to yourself 'If I don't, or because I haven't got.' Which has led you to believe you aren't worthy? We all have, because we have been conditioned that if we want to achieve success we have to look and be a certain way. I say it again 'it's all a load of bull!'


If you want to be successful all you have to do is ask. That's right ask, everyday you wake up, ask yourself 'what do I want from life?' Then you plan, you make a clear plan of what it is you want to do/ achieve. May I add 'rely on no one!' Only you can make this happen, your in control of your own destiny no one else, you have to do this for 'you!'


There are many ways you can develop a positive mindset, below I have included 10 affirmations, which I want you to screen shot, save to your phone, write them down, whatever. So when you feel the weight of the world is on your shoulders, or you're not in a good mood anymore you can refer back to these affirmations. These will give you a good boost and get you back to yourself in no time.
